From Prompt to Impact: Define, Draft and Verify Your AI Work

AI & Workplace Productivity

A fluent AI answer can still miss the task. Better results begin before the prompt and continue after the first draft. Use this simple workflow to keep human judgement in charge.

1. Define the task and context

State the audience, purpose, constraints and desired format. For a team update, explain what decision the reader needs to make. Use fictional or approved information and follow your organisation’s data rules.

2. Draft and explore options

Ask AI for a structure, alternative wording or a first draft. Compare the result with your brief. Request a targeted revision rather than accepting everything or starting again without direction.

3. Verify before use

Check facts, numbers, sources and important assumptions against reliable evidence. Review tone, relevance and confidentiality. A polished output is a draft, not proof that its claims are true.

Try this at work

Choose a low-risk task. Write the brief yourself, generate a draft and keep a short review log: what was useful, what was wrong, what you changed and what still needs checking.

Apply the workflow in a workshop
